On the Surface

Quarantine means different types of photography arise. Having to use a surface like a cutting board or kitchen counter, I actually used my own kitchen table for this. I liked the marble finish and designs on it. Simple, but it looks good. That's why I used bread too, the table and bread share a tan sort of color to it, showing a similar overall color, but they contrast enough to where both are distinguishable, and make a good combination.

Lighting on the other hand gave me a choice. I had 2 options, use the artificial light from my other phone, or let the light come in from the sliding door beside me. I ended up choosing the natural light from the sliding door, ans the light at the time came in gently and gave the bread a nice shadow. I tried other foods than the bread, but the bread stuck out to me because of the similar colors to the table that an orange, apple, or a cookie couldn't exactly copy. I liked the overall pallet of the picture.
