Public Speaker

Our Guest speaker was Jane, a very nice woman who does free lance photography for her work. She's been in the photography business for about 36 to 37 years. To get her first job, she applied to every photography position in newspaper company. Most didn't let her in except the last one, the LA Times, which is where she found her first job. She attended the University of Miami in Florida. I learned that freelance photography is difficult at first, but after awhile, and a decently long while at that. personally, my favorite photos were the baseball photos where the bats broke, those must have been a rare catch.

In terms of doing photography as a job, I feel I would do it more as a side job rather than a fully fledged job. It's not that I dislike photography, I actually quite enjoy it. But I want to pursue another career in the sciences.
